Tom Kofin was born and educated in Jasper, Alberta. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1972. Over the past 20 years Tom has been very successful in various fields of financial counseling, including life insurance, mortgage investments and retirement planning. He was manager of a Trust Company in Alberta from 1982 until 1987, and has been a retirement and estate consultant in Edmonton since then.

Tom's community involvement's include Rotary International (past president), Canadian Association of Financial Planners and Chartered Life Underwriters Association. He and his wife Norma-Jean, a Communications Consultant, have each had high profiles in their careers in Edmonton. They have one daughter, Laura, a Bachelor of Commerce graduate of the University of Alberta.
